Who I am

A smiling woman with long brown hair wearing a black top and a pearl necklace, against a plain brown background.

Born and raised in Denver, Colorado, I spent much of my childhood and young adult years exploring the mountains through hiking and skiing. I later moved to Michigan to be closer to family, where I enjoy the beauty and relaxation of the Great Lakes state. Outside of my work, I am a proud mom of two energetic children who keep me on my toes and constantly remind me of the importance of connection and growth.

Before attending medical school, I earned my Bachelors of Science in chemical engineering with an emphasis in biology from the University of Colorado, Boulder, graduating with honors. I then worked as a Clinical Research Coordinator in the Department of Pathology at the University of Colorado Hospital for three years.

I completed medical school, psychiatry residency and finally my child & adolescent psychiatry fellowship at the University of Colorado Anschutz School of Medicine. I am board certified in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry and Adult Psychiatry.

For the past five years, I have been practicing child & adolescent psychiatry in Kalamazoo— first at Ascension Borgess Hospital and more recently as an Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at Western Michigan University Homer Stryker M.D. School of Medicine.

I have completed DC: 0-5 training and had specialized training in antenatal mental health, mother-infant therapy, eating disorders and autism disorder.

I am currently accepting all persons aged 17 and under for psychiatric care.
